A birth doula is a professional who provides continuous emotional, physical, mental and educational support for you and your partner during pregnancy, through labor and immediately postpartum.
As your doula, I will help you find your voice. I will help you advocate for yourself. I strive to give you the best evidence based information and tools to help you make decisions confidently. I provide you with unbiased and non-judgmental support so you can birth your own way.
During labor I help physically by suggesting and helping you into different positions to find relief. I have other types of comfort measures such as massage, rebozo work, breathing techniques and pressure points to help you through contractions. I also provide lots of encouragement, support and relief for your partner.
I do not provide any type of medical care or perform any medical procedures as your birth doula.
A postpartum doula essentially "mothers the mother." I fulfill this role by providing evidence based information and support during your transition into parenthood after baby arrives. So much attention is on your beautiful new baby, and while I am there to help both you and baby, my main focus is on you!
I help teach you basic newborn care, infant feeding(breast or bottle) and I offer sibling care. Other offerings include basic household chores, light pet care, running errands and some healthy meal prepping for you and your family.
Most importantly, I help you feel safe and comfortable in your physical and emotional healing process. I will provide you with lots of love, support and assistance during those precious early weeks of parenthood and beyond.
I do not provide any type of medical care or perform any medical procedures as your postpartum doula.
Hi there! My name is Stephanie, and if you could not tell, I like purple just a little bit.
I have been doing this amazing work since 2016. I am a LIDA Certified Birth Doula, a Postpartum Doula and a Childbirth Educator. In addition to these wonderful things, in 2019 I became the co-president of The Long Island Doula Association.
My passion is helping birthing women and their partners feel confident, empowered, supported and respected in their pregnancy, during labor & birth, and throughout the postpartum period. I also love helping families during their transition at home during the first few months at home. You deserve love and support at all stages of this incredible phase of your life.
I am so glad you are here!
